Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced PostgreSQL Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team. As a PostgreSQL DBA you will be responsible for the management maintenance and optimization of our PostgreSQL database systems. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring the availability performance and security of our database infrastructure.

We are seeking a skilled and experienced PostgreSQL Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team. As a PostgreSQL DBA you will be responsible for the management maintenance and optimization of our PostgreSQL database systems. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring the availability performance and security of our database infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install configure and upgrade PostgreSQL database software and related tools.
- Design and implement backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability.
- Monitor and tune database performance to optimize query and improve overall system efficiency.
- Perform database capacity planning and resource management to ensure scalability and high availability.
- Manage database security including user access control authentication and data encryption.
- Collaborate with development teams to design implement and optimize database schemas and queries.
- Troubleshoot and resolve databaserelated issues including performance bottlenecks data and system failures.
- Implement and maintain database replication clustering and highavailability solutions.
- Develop and maintain documentation including database design installation procedures and configuration details.
- Stay uptodate with the latest PostgreSQL features technologies and best practices.
- Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelors degree in computer science information technology or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Proven experience as a PostgreSQL DBA including installation configuration and administration of PostgreSQL database systems.
- Strong understanding of relational database concepts and SQL.
- Proficiency in performance tuning query optimization and troubleshooting database issues.
- Experience with backup and recovery strategies including pointintime recovery and disaster recovery.
- Familiarity with database security principles and best practices.
- Experience with replication clustering and highavailability solutions for PostgreSQL (e.g. streaming replication logical replication PgpoolII Patroni).
- Knowledge of Linux/Unix operating systems and shell scripting.
- Excellent problemsolving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- PostgreSQL certification (e.g. Certified PostgreSQL Professional).
- Experience with other database systems such as MySQL Oracle or SQL Server.
- Knowledge of cloudbased database services (e.g. Amazon RDS Google Cloud SQL).
- Familiarity with database automation and orchestration tools (e.g. Ansible Terraform).
- Understanding of containerization technologies (e.g. Docker Kubernetes).
