Job Description
Amazon is an attractive target for malicious organizations that attempt to game Amazons services for competitive advantage. Brand Protection safeguards customer trust (customers brand owners and sellers) by detection and prevention of abuse of our stores. We do this by: (a) removing product listings that violate Amazon policies; (b) prevent bad actors from creating abusive product listings and (c) improving good seller experience. We also support a variety of partner teams to improve investigation and audit productivity.
We are looking for an experienced Software Development Manager who is excited by the unique challenges in this space and who is able to think strategically as well as drive implementation. You will lead the technical direction of the team working with many different technologies. You will create services that enable automated real time decision making & action taking by leveraging Machine Learning Models including Large Language Models (LLM) and build the scalable solutions to prevent the gaming behaviors. You will also lead the development of automated solutions which help investigators to make accurate decisions. You will work closely hand in hand with product managers machine learning scientists and operation teams
Key job responsibilities
As the Software Development Manager of the team you will take ownership over the software design documentation development engineering approach delivery and support of systems built in AWS. In this role you will collaborate with product and science partners work backwards from customers identify problems propose innovative solutions relentlessly raise standards and have a positive impact on millions of customers.
Bachelors degree
3 years of engineering team management experience
7 years of working directly within engineering teams experience
3 years of designing or architecting (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
8 years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing certification and livesite operations
Experience partnering with product or program management teams
Experience in communicating with users other technical teams and senior leadership to collect requirements describe software product features technical designs and product strategy
Experience in recruiting hiring mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills and make them more effective product software engineers

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $166400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $287700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity signon payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
