Twice each year our Academy welcomes a Spring and Fall cohort.
Candidates selected to join the fall cohort will begin employment in late summer. Interviews are typically scheduled late spring to early summer.

Framatome Nuclear Technology Academy technicians participate in a cohortbased program receiving competitive pay and benefits while earning credit toward a tuition free Associates Degree in Nuclear Technology encompassing courses in Machining Electrical Welding Mechatronics and more. Each semester techniciansalternate between attendingclasses at Central Virginia Community College and deploying to nuclear sites around the country in support of various business lines.
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Installs troubleshoots assembles and disassembles repairs and maintains tooling and equipment.
- Conducts a variety of routine field tasks including but not limited to operating specialized equipment taking measurements compiling data and performing without error in high stress environments.
- Maintains maintenance logs and certification documentation.
- Complies with all applicable safety and health rules including personal dose compliance.
- Works flexible hours and shifts as required to ensure timely service.
- Requires travel to a variety of job sites.
- Requires unescorted nuclear access (includes background check and drug screen).

Required Experience
All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements to be considered for this opportunity:
- High school diploma or equivalent*
- Accepted and enrolled at Central Virginia Community College and in good academic standing.

*Candidates must be at least 18 years of age prior to their employment date.
