POSITION TITLE: Temporary Program Coordinator (Youth Exploration Program)
Reporting to the Career Exploration Program Manager the Temporary Program Coordinator will be responsible for collaborating on team efforts providing transitional services and preparing students who are participating in an IEP/504 Plan or have documented disabilities with transitioning from high school to the workplace. This work is primarily done through the medium of one to two week summer training camps across Western WA. This person will have regular communication with students transition team including: the student parent(s) school staff School Transition Counselors and Regional Transition Consultants.
The successful candidate will possess strong interpersonal communication qualities be committed to working with diverse populations and provide excellent customer service to a broad range of cultures. The ideal candidate will possess construction and building trades experience and have knowledge on safety training power and hand tool experience and the ability to lead youth through construction projects.
This temporary position will start on June 2nd 2025 and conclude on August 30th 2025.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Maintain and use programbased computer systems write and review reports and maintain accurate records.
Instruct young students on safe application and use of construction tools and skills in order to complete program projects and develop candidates skills and abilities.
Capable of working independently in performing responsibilities across multiple initiatives and projects.
Provide comprehensive project support which includes meeting and event planning timelinebased activities tracking data entry and support and assisting in the management of multiple concurrent projects.
Provide excellent customer service as needed. Develop and maintain efficient communication processes crossstakeholder.
Work collaboratively/cooperatively with others on the team and individuals across
the organization to develop positive working relationships.
Collaborate with Regional Transition Consultants schools and communitybased organizations to identify students who have an IEP a 504 plan or a documented disability.
Coordinate activities customized to the individual students needs considering the students. skills abilities preferences and interests.
Prepare written program reports for internal management and funders.
Conduct and track student enrollment and outreach services.
Successfully execute the Youth Exploration Program related activities and workplace readiness in accordance with ANEWs mission and contract deliverables.
Develop educational activities that include workplace readiness selfadvocacy and job exploration relating to apprenticeship pathways and opportunities.
Speaking and presenting to RTC students school administrative staff and providing Apprenticeship 101 information sessions.
Plan Youth Exploration Curriculum. Deliver curriculum and supervise student participants during Exploration workshops.
Facilitate material pickup and delivery as well as setup of camp space and resources prior to camps start date. This person will also maintain a clean organized and safe learning environment
Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM / REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Demonstrated commitment to economic racial and social justice and an understanding of the ways institutions and systems hurt communities of color through both conscious and unconscious bias.
Flexibility and adaptability in working with a growing nonprofit.
Experience working with power and hand tools OSHA training highly preferred.
Strong communication and administrative skills with a proven track record of managing multiple projects.
2 Experience in working with collaborative partnerships.
2 Previous Experience working with K12 student Programs.
Experience supervising disadvantaged youth IEP 504 and people with documented disabilities.
Experience providing employment navigation for young adults. This includes identifying and reducing barriers that prevent successful job placement.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Background screening through Washington State Patrol
Criminal background screening through WA DSHS background checking system
Ability to work flexible schedule to include evening and or weekend
Proof of citizenship or other authorization for employment
Continuation of employment is contingent upon successfully performing work described
Continuation of this position is dependent on achievement of performance goals and availability of funding
WORK LOCATION: ANEW Tukwila Training Center and Satellite locations as assigned WORK SCHEDULE: Monday Friday some weekends and evenings may be required.
REPORTS TO: Career Exploration Program Manager
SALARY
This position is a temporary nonexempt position with a starting hourly range of $32.60 $34.60 hourly. Paid on a twice monthly basis.
This position is grantfunded and continuation of this position is subject to continuation of funding. The starting hourly rate is based on education and experience.
BENEFITS
This position is a Temporary Position. The person in this position is expected to serve a 90day probation period. This position does not qualify for health vision or dental benefits. These benefits will not be included until and unless the position is made permanent which is contingent upon performance evaluation funding board direction and potential redevelopment of the organization and its training/service delivery models.
