Three years of progressively responsible experience in child support services or a closely related human services environment demonstrating expertise with interviewing clients providing counseling in public service conducting comprehensive audits and case reviews for state and federal policy or related regulatory compliance investigating audit findings and recommending improvements to webbased case management systems; OR two years of experience equivalent to a Family Support Specialist in Washoe County; OR an equivalent combination of training and experience.
This is a Department Promotionalonlyrecruitment being conducted to fill a current fulltime vacancy in the District Attorneys Office. The list established from this recruitment may be used to fill future vacancies as they occur.
This position requires working in the office during the training period with the option for partial remote work at the discretion of the department.
In order to be considered for this recruitment you must be a current employee of the hiring department who has been in a classified status for a minimum of six months.

A valid drivers license is required at the time of appointment and must be maintained for continued employment in this classification.
Ideal Candidate Criteria
Prior experience with child support enforcement preferred.
The Washoe County Employees Association (WCEA) Supervisory covers the Family Support Supervisor position.
Washoe County requires its employees to reside in the state of Nevada or neighboring California communities such as Truckee South Lake Tahoe or Susanville as of their first day of work.
Washoe County hires all new employees at the minimum rate of the salary range and eligible employees may receive an annual merit increase of 5 until they reach the maximum salary for the classification. Upon promotion current Washoe County employees are placed at the minimum rate of the salary range for the higher classification of the new position OR a promotional calculation whichever is greater.

This exam link will tentatively be delivered via email the week of April 22 2025 and qualified candidates will have a time limit to complete the exam within 4 calendar days. **You will be notified if you are eligible to transfer an exam score within 1 week following the closing date of the recruitment.
