Job Description

Position Title: Speech Language Pathologist

Department:Alma Primary School

Reports To:Principal/Special Education Director

Contract:190 Days

Closing: 06/01/2025

Salaries:

Alma School District is actively seeking an experienced talented and dynamic individual to join our highly successful and progressive schools. The candidate will also devote his or her energies and efforts toward learning experiences designed to fulfill students intellectual emotional physical and social growth.

EDUCATION CREDENTIALS and/or EXPERIENCE

MINIMAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Masters Degree in SpeechLanguage Pathology
  • AR License as Speech Pathologist
  • Obtain Certification of Clinical Competency

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least 3 years experience as a speechLanguage Pathologist
  • Specialized training in dealing with behaviors of special education students

ESSENTIAL DUTIES RESPONSIBILITIES EXPERIENCE AND SKILL SET

  • Conduct speech and language screenings as needed
  • Evaluate students using clinical observation and standardized testing procedures that best identify the students potential needs
  • Develop individual student plans including identification of needs goal setting strategies and assessment outcomes
  • Participate in referral and evaluation/programming conferences by reviewing and explaining assessment results with parents teachers and other team members
  • Provide therapies that are appropriate for the students identified need and in accordance with state and federal laws and district policies
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues students and parents regarding the accomplishment of therapy goals and the needs of the student
  • Maintain organized detailed and accurate assessment records therapy sessions progress reports and other relevant information utilizing appropriate technology systems as directed SEAS/Attain Google DSCTop)
  • Demonstrate flexibility and responsiveness to students school personnel and district needs
  • Keep up to date with the latest research and techniques in the field through continuing education and professional development opportunities
  • Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with school community and parents
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the building principal and Director of Special Education
  • Performs other duties as assigned
