We best serve our students colleagues and community when we work as a POSITION DESCRIPTION:To care for and educate children ages 12 weeks to school age in a developmentally appropriate early childhood environment following criteria from NAEYC Texas Rising Star and Texas Child Care Licensing Minimum Standards. Also to model highquality interactions guidance and education strategies for college students and visitors to the lab school. This position reports to the Facility Director of the Child Development Lab School and exercises no supervision. NOTE: This is a security sensitive position and an appropriate background investigation will be made on applicants being strongly considered for this QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:Education: Associates degree in early childhood education child development elementary education or early childhood special education OR an Associates degree with at least 36 credits in an early childhood educationrelated : One year of experience working with young children ages birth to five 5 years. Candidates may substitute a Bachelors degree in an Educationrelated field for 1 year of experience. Special Requirements: Commitment to obtain CPR and First Aid certifications within first six weeks of CRITERIA:The cover letter should address how the following knowledge skills and abilities were acquired:Knowledge of: 1. Unpleasant Exposure Minor HazardModerate exposure to dust grease noise inclement weather temperature extremes and unpleasant but not hazardous odors are present. There is occasional exposure to risk controlled by safety precautions. Frequency and severity are :Health Insurance retirement plan sick leave vacation and holidays.
