Job Description
Archbishop Spalding High School is accepting applications for the position of Health & Physical Education teacher for theacademic year.
Essential Functions
- Provide rigorous college preparatory academic teaching while upholding the values and ideals of the schools Catholic identity.
- Prove a grade appropriate instructional program for students in accordance with curriculum. Effective instruction will include differentiated learning.
- Participate in faculty curriculum and team meetings school committees and professional development as needed.
- Provide technologyenhanced instruction that leads to deeper understanding and realworld experiences.
- Perform assigned duties supervising students such as advisory and class substitution duties.
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan implement and evaluate instructional programs.
- Prepare daily and weekly lessons.
- Maintain an attractive organized and engaging learning environment.
- Meet with students for extra help during free periods and before/after school.
- Support the school through attendance at evening and weekend events as necessary including but not limited to admissions athletic and club events parent/teacher conferences etc.
- Chaperon a minimum of 4 extracurricular activities.
- Communicate effectively with students parents colleagues and administrators.
- Accurately report grades and attendance and uphold student code of conduct policies.
Position Qualifications
- Bachelors degree or higher in Health & Physical Education
- Qualifications needed for MSDE secondary certification
- Indepth knowledge of a variety of areas of Healthand Fitness and Physical Education
- An appreciation for and willingness to collaborate with teams
- Strong proficiency in utilizing digital or online platforms specifically Google Suite and Canvas
- Enthusiasm for working with adolescents
- A deep understanding of adolescent pedagogy and development
- A desire to grow through reflective professional practice
- A desire to build a community of connection and belonging
Pay Range: $42500 $85000 Annualized
