As the largest passenger Rolling Stock manufacturer in the United States we are expanding our footprint by building an advanced manufacturing and rail services facility on a 200acre site in the proclaimed Barbecue Capital of the World. Building on some of the latest technologies in our Sacramento Rolling Stock and Rail Customer Services factories the new facility will include robotic welding 3D printing Virtual Reality weld training and software tools to enhance our manufacturing process. Join the growing team at our worldclass train manufacturing facility in Lexington North Carolina. Siemens Mobility Rolling Stock Division is the North American market leader in the production of passenger locomotives and coaches and light rail vehicles. As an Assembler Technician I you will support a broad range of mechanical and assembly activities in a dynamic high energy production environment in final assembly of the best rail vehicles in the world.
What your daytoday will look like:
- Build up and assemble units in passenger coaches such as but not limited to roofs cable harnesses mounted parts electrical racks and panels including air supply racks and piping assemblies.
- Apply adhesive assemble and align floor panels windows and door assemblies.
- Install mechanical components such as insulation sidewall panels seating and luggage racks.
- Route and connect electrical wiring harnesses to final termination points and subassemblies.
- Disassemble modify rework refurbish reassemble components as required.
- Duties may consist of but not limited to working from production blueprints wiring diagrams parts lists wire lists sketches and verbal instructions to produce electrical or ElectroMechanical subassemblies.
- Frequently required to use fine motor skills assembling some small parts with excellent dexterity.
To thrive in this role you have:
- High school education or state recognized GED or equivalent combination of education and experience in a manufacturing or similar environment such as electrical panel assembly construction automotive or electrical service industries.
- Capable of basic written and verbal communication in English
- Knowledge of reading of blueprints diagrams and various part list is helpful.
Physical Demands:
- Frequently walk reach with hands and arms stoop kneel crouch or crawl.
- Frequently required to climb stairs steps and ladders
- Frequently required to work on elevated platforms.
- Perform work overhead.
- Occasionally lift and move at most 40 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities include close vision distance vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and the ability to focus.
