Job Title: Multi Skilled Maintenance Technician
Location: Peterlee County Durham
Salary: Up toDependant on Experience (paid overtime available) (Salary Includes shift allowance)
Hours: Full Time Permanent 36.5 hours per week
Travel: Up to 5 for training and development
Relocation: Not supported with this role
Shift Pattern: 4 Crew 3 Shifts per week (days/nights rotation Mon Sat)

Caterpillar Peterlee is the worldwide source of Cat Articulated Trucks. Machines from the site are shipped to customers around the world and are used in many industries including miningconstructionand aggregates. The facilitys manufacturing activities use the latest computer analysis techniques robotictechnologyand a stateoftheart paint plant.

Job Purpose:
As a Maintenance Technician you will be responsible for completing planned and reactive maintenance activities to ensure a high level of uptime is achieved on a wide range of equipment throughout the facility.
What skills/experience you will have:
- A recognised apprenticeship in a Mechanical or Electrical discipline an ONC BTEC or NVQ Level 3 in Maintenance or Engineering equivalent qualification
- Maintenance and faultfinding experience in a manufacturing environment
- An interest in problem solving and passion to learn
- Highly motivated with a proactive attitude towards continuous improvement
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a team and be comfortable to work independently
Top candidates will also have:
- Experience with PLCs
- NEBOSH/IOSH Qualification or evidence of safety improvement activities
Key Tasks and Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Completing planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown maintenance on:
- Automated Metal Cutting Equipment including Laser and Plasma
- Automated Paint Plant
- Robotic Welding Systems
- Welding equipment
- Hydraulic and Pneumatic Systems
- Electronic Torque equipment
- Automated Moving Lines/AGVs
- Hydraulic Presses
- Overhead and Semi Goliath Cranes
- Completing Dynamic Risk Assessments along with adhering to the companys Health and Safety policy
- Utilising the Computerised Maintenance Management System (SAP PM Agility etc) to review previous breakdown data and record actions taken on breakdown recoveries
- Diagnosing PLC concerns and implementing program changes
- Complete training and further learning as required
- Breakdown root cause identification and countermeasure implementation
