Northeastern University is a national leader in cooperative education in which students alternate between academic study and work experiences. The College of Engineering has a robust coop program for graduate engineering students and its rapid expansion now requires more support to continue developing and growing the program. This is a full time nontenure track faculty position primarily working with students in the College of Engineerings Multidisciplinary Graduate Engineering (MGEN) Unit on the Boston campus.

Specific responsibilities include:
Employer Relations/Job Development
The Cooperative Education Coordinator is expected to:
develop partnerships with employers by working with executive supervisory and human resources contacts
develop new and maintain ongoing coop positions and make appropriate referrals for students to apply to these positions
maintain a current understanding of the industry/field employers and positions.
Activities to support this endeavor include site visits to new and existing employers follow up communications and continued efforts to develop new and enhance current relationships with employers.
Preparation of Students
The Cooperative Education Coordinator will prepare students for the coop search and work experience both by teaching coop related courses each semester and through individual advising meetings. Preparation includes teaching tools appropriate for coop search (interviewing skills resume writing LinkedIn professional behavior and job search tools) as well as career foundations topics (such as ethics mindset mindfulness and motivation).
The coordinator will be the primary point of contact for a large group of students in preparing for coop and while on coop.
The coordinator will collaborate with college faculty administration and other coop coordinators both within the unit and across the university to help students integrate their coop and academic education and share knowledge of the industry with academic faculty to integrate workbased learning with curriculumbased learning.
Service
The coordinator will also perform coop MGEN college and university service as agreed upon by the Coordinator and Director of the MGEN Coop Unit of the College of Engineering.
Further he/she/they will be encouraged to engage in service opportunities outside the University to enhance the reputation of the coop program and the University.
Qualifications
A masters degree in higher education administration engineering business administration or a related field is required by the appointment start date.
A minimum of five years of professional work experience is required.
Substantial use of technology tools is required and excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
Experience working with staff/student populations including international students.
Experience working with engineers in a Human Resources setting or in the career development recruiting or counseling of engineering students is a plus.

Pay Range:
Assistant Coop Coordinator: $65000 $83000 Associate Coop Coordinator: $75000 $101000 Senior Coop Coordinator: $82000 $111000With the pay range(s) shown above the starting salary will depend on several factors which may include your education experience location knowledge and expertise and skills as well as a pay comparison to similarlysituated employees already in the role. Salary ranges are reviewed regularly and are subject to change.
