Know Your Rights: are seeking a Behavioral Health CNA (Nights) also referred to as a Psychiatric Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Mental Health CNA at St John Hospital a member of Prime Healthcare in Leavenworth KS. A Behavioral Health CNA or Mental Health CNA provides care for patients with mental health or behavioral challenges by assisting with daily activities monitoring behaviors and promoting a safe supportive environment. They collaborate with the healthcare team to offer emotional support identify changes in patient condition and assist in deescalating potentially critical situations.
Bonus: Up to $1000 (Paid out as stipends every 90 days)
Shifts Available: Nights $2 differential in pay)
Employment Type: Fulltime
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes but not limited to):
- Patient Support & Observation:
- assist patients with daily activities: bathing dressing feeding toileting and ambulation
- monitor and report changes in behavior mood or physical condition to nurses or doctors; observe for signs of agitation selfharm or aggression
- Safety & Deescalation:
- help maintain a safe structured environment use deescalation techniques to calm distressed or agitated patients
- Communication & Documentation:
- accurately document behavior interventions and vital signs communicate effectively with the care team
- Therapeutic Support:
- encourage patients to participate in group activities or therapy sessions offer emotional support and help build trust with patients
- Unit Support
- help with cleaning and maintaining patient rooms ensure equipment and supplies are stocked
Qualifications
Before we go any further we do have some dealbreakers. You must have:
- current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate upon hire required
- current BLS upon hire and maintain current
Additional Required Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
- possess knowledge of Medical Terminology
It will be great if you also happen to have these qualifications but not required:
- minimum six months of previous experience in an acute care hospital or physicians office preferred
