The senior vice president (SVP) and president adult services is a core member of the UCSF Health leadership team. This person serves as a member of the systems leadership council which reviews and shapes health policies aligning strategic priorities with system goals and objectives and adjudicating complex and largescale issues that the system faces.
Reporting to the president and chief executive officer (CEO) the SVP and president adult services provides oversight of the strategic direction fiscal management program development quality and safety work culture enhancement internal communication and consensusbuilding operations and management of clinical services for all adult services across the Parnassus Mission Bay Mount Zion and Langley Porter campuses collaborating with the VP/COO of cancer services SVP of childrens services the VP for service lines for adult service the VP for new hospital operations and activation and other health leaders to deliver highly coordinated care across the health system. The incumbent is accountable for highquality; coordinated and innovative delivery of adult clinical services across the health system including UCSFowned and operated sites and affiliated programs locations and physicians including womens health.
In partnership with the chancellor and the president and CEO of UCSF Health this person will drive the future state of adult services at UCSF Health across the Bay Area. This leader will drive the future of inpatient adult programs in neurosciences cardiovascular services cancer services womens health and service lines for adult services as well as transplant. This leader will facilitate the development of a compelling and compassionate care infrastructure that spans the inpatient and outpatient setting for all adults served by UCSF Health.
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC anticipated base salary for this role is expected to be $725K $825K annually. The role is eligible for Clinical Enterprise Management Recognition Program (CEMRP) which could include 15 target bonus eligibility for a total cash comp of up to $949K (maximum base plus target bonus). Eligibility for CEMRP is dependent on start date achievement of organizational department and individual objectives. An offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate and the current salary level of individuals working at UCSF in a similar role. The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Has knowledge of public relations principles and practices as well as communication and public relations techniques. Able to develop and deliver presentations. Able to identify and secure funding/revenue sources.
Must possess strong professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate and interact with officials at all levels of government. Must be able to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. Able to motivate teams and manage several projects simultaneously.
Expert negotiation and influencing skills.
Highly advanced ability to build and maintain a climate of trust that inspires commitment to achieve organization goals.
These abilities likely will have been acquired through a combination of a masters degree in business administration finance or accounting and 10 years of experience in a leadership role for a large division or company.
Experience in an Academic Medical Center preferred.
UCSF Health is made up of four distinct business units: Adult Services Pediatric Services Ambulatory Services and the UCSF Affiliated Network. Each unit operates under its own President and executive leadership team reporting to the President and CEO of UCSF Health.
The Adult Services unit oversees strategy finances quality safety work culture and operations across adult clinical services at UCSFs Parnassus Mission Bay Mount Zion and Langley Porter campuses as well as key adult service lines.
