Summary of Duties:
Utilize diverse knowledge base for many needs within an animal care facility with an emphasis on cleaning and maintenance. Responsibilities include cleaning and sanitizing animal treatment and holding areas and observing animals for sickness or abnormalities. Stocking supplies collecting processing and distributing laundry collection disposal of trash and biohazardous waste. Minor equipment repair and other miscellaneous tasks as needed. Lead and assist PMshift hourly employees.
Work schedule 12:00pm 8:30pm MondayFriday.
Required Qualifications:
Two years of experience as an Animal Technician 2; OR equivalent education/experience.
Must pass WSU radiation safety training exam first time it is available.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with and caring for canine feline birds and exotics.
Experience in general maintenance and repair.
Experience handling waste and performing custodial duties.
Experience stocking inventory and completing laundry.

$3028.00 to $3999.00 Range 34 (Step A M) Successful candidates typically begin at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 35728.

This position has been designated by the department to require a background check because it requires access to children or vulnerable adults as defined by RCW 74.34 engages in law enforcement requires security clearance interacts with WSU students in a counseling or advising capacity has access to personal identifying and/or financial information unsupervised access to university buildings/property or other businessrelated need. A background check will not be completed until an initial determination of qualification for employment has been made.
