Overview
Clinical Nurse Part Time
Dubuque IA
Clinic Hours: MondayFriday 7:30AM5:00PM 2 days/week
Part Time Benefits
Under the direction of a health care provider Clinical Nurse RN is responsible for the delivery of patient care that promotes the safety and wellbeing of our patients.
Responsibilities
- Assist provider and other clinical staff with obtaining basic vital information preparing patient for examination treatment and minor surgical procedures.
- May be required to draw and collect blood and other samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.
- Apply Nursing Process (assessment diagnosis planning intervention and evaluation within licensure guidelines).
- Telephone triage by providing and documenting advice for home care of illness/conditions; conducting followup phone calls regarding patients health and progress as necessary.
- Administer vaccines and ordered medications by oral IMSQ or ID routes.
- Schedule referrals for patients with specialist or outpatient as requested by the provider. Complete appropriate forms or requisitions needed for referrals or lab testing including appropriate CPT/ICD9 coding.
- Perform waived laboratory tests schedule appointments and document according to established guidelines provided in the Coumadin (Warfarin) therapy guidelines.
- Adjust medication dosage based on INR lab results
- Assist anticoagulated patients both in office and via telephone management to assist maintaining a safe and therapeutic dosing regimen of Warfarin.
- Work with multidisciplinaries including Home Health LongTerm Care and Skilled Care facilities.
- Manage office responsibilities which include documentation records and patient outreach.
- Accurately administer medications orally IM subq and IV.
- Coordinate the transfer of patients to hospitals.
Qualifications
Education
Graduate of an accredited program for Registered Nurses.
High school diploma required if work is performed in a complex CLIA lab.
Experience
No previous clinical experience required beyond education requirements
License(s)/Certification(s)
BLS
Current license to practice nursing in the State of Iowa/Wisconsin for Registered Nurse.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to work as a team member.
Ability to understand and apply guidelines policies and procedures.
Previous clinical experience in a medical office preferred.
Strong computer skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
