Salary incentives and benefits

Weve increased our starting salary again! Our salary range is now $53000 to $90000 with a higher starting salary and rank accounting for years of law enforcement experience and training. Officers have ample paid overtime and extra duty opportunities. Starting salary also increases with the following:

  • $1500 for associate degree
  • $2500 for bachelors degree
  • $4500 for masters degree
  • $1500 for language fluency
  • $1500 for Advanced Law Enforcement Certificate

Additional incentives for officers include:

  • $500 annually for successfully completing physical abilities test
  • 3 increase for officers serving as Field Training Officer

Guardians of the Hill enjoy permanent fixed shifts beginning with the patrol division with opportunities to serve in investigations K9unit traffic community services as School Resource Officers and ontheSpecial Emergency Response Team.

With newly created rotational positions patrol officers gain diverse experience sooner in their careers.

Officers work sidebyside with our Crisis Unit a coresponder model that has been part of our Police Department for 50 years. Officers and nonsworn crisis counselors collaborate and provide onsite emergency response to people who are experiencing a crisis.
