Software Development Manager Amazon Payment Products

The products include Amazon CoBranded Credit Cards Private Labeled Credit Cards (PLCC) CoBranded Debit Cards Shop with Points and Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) Credit Line.

We are looking for a technically strong engineering leader to define the threeyear architectural vision and roadmap for the team. The team provide customers with a seamless and intuitive experience when linking their account accessing their account details and viewing their statements on Amazon. You will help influence the teams technical and business strategy by making insightful contributions to priorities and approach setting the standard for engineering excellence taking the lead in identifying and solving ambiguous technical problems architecture deficiencies or areas where your teams software bottlenecks the innovation of other teams and collaborate and influence other teams throughout the greater Amazon Payment Products organization. To achieve results through others you will demonstrate technical influence over the different individual teams either via a collaborative software effort or by increasing their productivity and effectiveness by driving software engineering best practices. Youll also lead design reviews for the organization actively participate in design and program reviews and actively mentor other engineers

As a Software Development Manager you will identify hire and build a worldclass team of development engineers to define drive and execute on this vision. You will initiate processes that allow the team to collaborate with local as well as global teams with a high degree of efficiency. You will develop a team of highly motivated and talented individuals that can collaborate with Project Managers Product Managers and SDEs across the company on this highimpact initiative.

Key job responsibilities
Responsible for the overall development life cycle of cobrand credit card servicing solutions and managing complex projects with significant bottomline impact
Work with product managers in developing a strategy and road map to provide compelling capabilities for the customers to manage their payment product
Work closely with senior engineers to develop the best technical design and approach for new product development.
Instill best practices for software development and documentation assure designs meet requirements and deliver highquality work on tight schedules.
Perform project management duties including prioritization planning of projects and features stakeholder management and tracking of external commitments
Maintain Operational Excellence in monitoring and operation of production services
Career management and development of direct reports

3 years of engineering team management experience
7 years of working directly within engineering teams experience
3 years of designing or architecting (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
8 years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing certification and livesite operations
Experience partnering with product or program management teams

Experience in communicating with users other technical teams and senior leadership to collect requirements describe software product features technical designs and product strategy
Experience in recruiting hiring mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills and make them more effective product software engineers
