We run Amazon Route 53 a highly available and scalable cloud Domain Name System (DNS) service. Our day to day work is to design develop deploy and operate software that manages customer DNS data. Due to the critical nature of DNS we try to make our software highly available and scalable and efficient which essentially requires developing complex distributed systems. As a result members of our team are either experts in building robust distributed systems or are becoming experts.

3 years of noninternship professional software development experience
2 years of noninternship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Experience programming with at least one software programming language

3 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary for this position ranges from $114800/year up to $191800/year. Salary is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity signon payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
