Job Description

Early Childhood Teacher

Lady Gowrie is seeking Early Childhood Teachers for our Bowen Road South Hobart Integrated Centre (also located in South Hobart) Midway Point Penna and Kingston Long Day Care Services. Lady Gowrie is a notforprofit communitybased organisation providing Education and Care to children from birth to 12 years of age.

Role: Early Childhood Teacher

Locations: Bowen Road Kingston Midway Point Penna South Hobart Integrated Centre (also in South Hobart)

Employment Type: Parttime roles available

ABOUT THE ROLE

As Early Childhood Teacher you will work closely with our Education and Care Practitioners demonstrating and mentoring in pedagogy and practice and work in ratio.

As an Early Childhood Teacher you will:

  • Work closely with our educators and develop programs tailored to meet the individual needs of each child.
  • Ensure compliance as a mandated reporter in accordance with the services Child Protection policy and procedures.
  • Identifying and responding to children at risk
  • Promote positive comforting and nurturing relationships with children.
  • Be proactive in ensuring currency in best early childhood practice.
  • Providing experiences to support childrens play and learning.
  • Listening to children including interpreting words and actions to determine a childs individual needs.
  • Using storytelling drama music and discussion to develop language and vocabulary.

ABOUT YOU

  • Bachelors degree in early childhood education (ACECQA approved)
  • A sound understanding and knowledge of the National Quality Framework
  • Ability to lead and work collaboratively and cooperatively in a team environment.
  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills
  • Accredited Child Protection Training
  • Current anaphylaxis and emergency asthma management training.
  • Current Working with Vulnerable People Registration for an Employee (Child Related Activity)
  • A recent Police Check
