Our teams mission is to improve Shopping experience for customers interacting with Amazon devices via voice. We work with Alexa and multiple other teams to research and develop advanced stateoftheart speech technologies. Key job responsibilities
We are looking for a passionate talented and inventive Applied Scientist with a background in Machine Learning to help build industryleading Speech and Language technology.
As an Applied Scientist at Amazon you will work with talented peers to develop novel algorithms and modelling techniques to drive the state of the art in speech synthesis.
Position Responsibilities:
* Participate in the design development evaluation deployment and updating of datadriven models for Speech and Language applications.
* Participate in research activities including the application and evaluation of Speech and Language techniques for novel applications.
* Research and implement novel ML and statistical approaches to add value to the business.
* Mentor junior engineers and scientists.
3 years of building models for business application experience
PhD or Masters degree and 4 years of CS CE ML or related field experience
Experience in patents or publications at toptier peerreviewed conferences or journals
Experience programming in Java C Python or related language
Experience in any of the following areas: algorithms and data structures parsing numerical optimization data mining parallel and distributed computing highperformance computing
Experience using Unix/Linux
Experience in professional software development

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity signon payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
