Overview
The Department of Veterinary Clinical and Life Sciences (VCLS) in the College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) at Utah State University (USU) invites applications for an open faculty position in veterinary parasitology. The position comprises 35 teaching 60 research and 5 service. This is a 1.0 FTE academicyear position with ananticipated start date of August 1 2025. Review of applications will begin May 15 2025 and continue until the position has been filled. The tenuretrack rank of assistant associate or full professor will be considered depending on the qualifications and experience of the successful applicant.

Responsibilities
Position responsibilities for Teaching 35:
- Provide instruction in parasitology in the fully integrated veterinary medical curriculum which includes formal instruction laboratory instruction and casebased group exercises.
- Participate in graduate student instruction in the departments Biomedical Sciences graduate program.
- Take a leadership role in course organization and development.
- Contribute to future development and delivery of veterinary medical instruction in the DVM degree curriculum.
Position responsibilities for Research 60:
- Develop a competitive research program sustained by extramural funding.
- Publish original research in peerreviewed scientific journals.
- Participation in graduate student teaching and training.
Position responsibilities for Service 5:
- Contribute to the department college university and profession through service (e.g. serve on promotion curriculum hiring and admissions committees)
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- PhD or DVM or equivalent degree.
- Demonstrated expertise in parasitology.
- Evidence of potential for building an extramurally funded research program.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work within the team of instructors in the DVM program.
- Strong English language written and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Evidence of excellent teaching performance in an academic and/or similar professional setting.
- Postdoctoral research training of at least one year.
- Demonstrated record of scholarly activity and record of published peerreviewed scientific research.
- Demonstrated ability to obtain extramural research funding.
- Experience teaching parasitology in a veterinary medical program.
Additional Qualifications for Associate or Full Professor:
- At least five years of professional experiencein veterinary parasitology instruction.
- Strong track record of scientific publications and an established strong research program sustained by extramural funding.
- Experience in curriculum development and leadership including course organization and innovation in teaching methodologies.
