Position Overview:
Under the Direction of the Associate Director of the Community Health and Violence Prevention Services Division (CHVPS) the RISE (Relentess Interrupters Serving Everyone) Program Manager will plan organize direct and control activities and staff responsible for community and hospitalbased violence prevention and intervention programming designed to reduce the incidents of violence in Harris County communities. This position is responsible for managing the timely directives management program evaluation updates and presentations. This position represents CHVPS in the community and facilitates harmonious working relationships with diverse community members stakeholders and partners.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manages the daytoday activities of the RISE Team consisting of community and hospital violence interruption staff.

  • Leads staff to achieve high quality results ensuring adherence to Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) including departmental and countywide vision and goals.

  • Ensures that program data is accurately captured implemented monitored and submitted as required.

  • Implements strategies for community outreach mobilizing communitywide engagement to build strong relationships with youth residents businesses and community groups to address root causes of violence through coordinated care teams.

  • Ensures staff are adequately trained in violence prevention trauma informed and associated evidencebased practices.

  • Facilitates collaborative relationships with division department external partners and stakeholders who support violence prevention and intervention work. Maintain knowledge about latest practices and trends in the field.

  • Assists with the divisions budget and any associated grants.

  • Leads continuous quality improvement effort including the ongoing professional development of staff.

  • Leads the development and implementation of operational plans and procedures.

  • Conducts trainings presentations and participates in division and departmentwide meetings as needed.

Requirements

Education Requirements:

Licenses/Certifications Required:
  • Valid Drivers License (Texas upon hire).
Experience Requirements:
  • At least 5 years of management and leadership experience
  • At least 3 years of recent experience working in trauma/violence and injury prevention or related activities
  • Knowledge of case management principles and interventions.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint & Outlook)
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Experience or training in crisis intervention/mediation
  • Experience in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Participation in community organizations and firsthand understanding of issues related to community violence.
  • Experience documenting and reviewing case notes with a thorough understanding of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Theory of Change and Logic Models.
  • Experience working with people from various ethnic economic and educational backgrounds both as colleagues and as clients
  • Knowledge of case management principles and interventions.

General Information

Position Type and Typical Hours of Work:

Work Environment:
  • This position is primarily officebased offering a professional and collaborative workspace utilizing technology to support daily tasks including computers phones and software applications. While much of the work is deskbased the role involves meetings video conferences inperson interactions with colleagues staff and community members. The position requires community and hospital observations of staff.
Physical Demands:
  • This is a largely sedentary role; however some duties would require the ability to lift up to 20 pounds and bending & standing for periods at a time.
