Job Summary
Radford University announces two tenuretrack positions (one at the Assistant level and one at the Associate level) in the doctoral Counseling Psychology program within the Department of Psychology in the College of Humanities and Behavioral Sciences to begin August 2022. Core faculty of the program are expected to contribute to the collective mission working collaboratively as colleagues serving programs in counseling psychology school experimental and undergraduate psychology. The program has a longstanding commitment to train highly skilled socially conscious and reflective professionals. This also includes training Counseling Psychologists to be multiculturally humble dedicated to advancing social justice committed to evidenced based practice and prepared to meet the challenges of working in complex environments in rural areas and urban communities. Duties 9 Month Contract): 1. Teach graduate courses and supervise research in an APA accredited counseling psychology program; 2. Engage in applied research with the potential for external funding; 3. Fulfill undergraduate teaching responsibilities; 4. Advise undergraduate psychology students; and 5. University college department and program service is expected. Further we seek individuals who work collaboratively collegially and respectfully to promote the mission of the program. Candidates must have a strong commitment to both undergraduate and graduate education and a focused research agenda. The successful applicant will be expected to teach a mix of undergraduate classes (e.g. research methods history and systems introduction to psychology or related courses) and graduate level courses (e.g. ethics neurocognitive assessment group counseling history and systems program evaluation practicum or related courses). Candidates will also be expected to establish an independent program of research that incorporates students provide direct supervision of students in the community or within the department clinic and contribute to department college and university governance. Required Qualifications
Applicants must have an earned Ph.D. from APA accredited program in Counseling Psychology ABD will be considered but degree must be conferred before the August 2022 start date) have completed an APA accredited internship and fully licensed as a psychologist in VA within the first 18 months of hire.
