SDOT has a wonderful Bridge Maintenance Electrician (Electrician) job opportunity available. If you have experience with diagnosing and performing installations and repairs on complex electrical systems you might have a place on our Bridge Maintenance team. Installmodify and upgrade new and existing electrical and electronic systemscomponentparts and other related electrical equipment in bridges and other city structures.
Diagnose and repair motor controls fire alarm systems lighting systems electrical controls phone systems automatic doors and gates emergency power systems transfer switches etc.
Conduct preventative maintenance service on motors motor controllers electrical equipment including generators automatic transfer switches and UPS systems.
Install lighting fixtures power outlets and control devices.
Run conduit and pull wire for new and existing electrical installations.
Review blueprints electrical schematics and electrical equipment specifications.
Drive work vehicles to various locations in the city in a safe and efficient manner.
Read and interpret schematics and blueprints.
Experience:
Requires completion of an accepted fouryear apprenticeship training program and journeylevel electrician status (or an equivalent combination of education and/or training and/or experience).
Current Washington State drivers license or ability to obtain one by start date.
OR:An equivalent combination of education and experience thatdemonstratesthe ability to perform the positions duties.
Though not requirements strong candidates will have some of the following experience or are able to describe comparable experience:
E01 licensed journeyman electrician.
Ability to produce written reports.
Experience working with programmable logic controls.
Experiencein Allen Bradley Symax and DOS based software programming.
Experience with AC/DC motor controls HVAC fire monitoring securitylightingand CCTV systems.
Seattle Fire Department FA1 certification: Must have a NICET II certification in Fire Alarms or ESA/NTS CFAT II certification for the ability to hold the FA1.
Experience in readingblueprints schematics wiring diagrams ladder logic project plans and specifications of electrical equipment installation.
Able to troubleshoot electrical and electronic systems.
Able to troubleshoot electric / hydraulic systems.
Effectively work in a multicultural workplace with a diverse customer base.
Other Requirements:
Work Environment / PhysicalDemands:
Works occasionally with electrically energized lines when power cannot be disconnected.
Works at heights with ladders boom trucks or on catwalks.
May beto standliftand manipulate objects weighing it excess of 50 pounds bend walk or crawl forlong periodsor work in confiningworkspaces.
May require handling or working with toxic and/or hazardous substances.

The Citys full salary range for this position is $56.21 $60.80 Hourly.
