As a Software Development Engineer with a focus on Machine Learning on the AR Sortation Planning team you will be foundational in establishing and growing a machine learning practice to power intelligent robotic workcells. You will design and deploy ML models that optimize sortation efficiency enhance safety and ergonomics and enable adaptive decisionmaking in robotic workflows. Youll collaborate with robotics controls and simulation teams to integrate perception and prediction models into realworld and simulated systems. Your work will directly impact how our robotic systems operate at scale making measurable improvements in performance safety and associate satisfaction.


Key job responsibilities
* Build scalable flexible and maintainable MLdriven software solutions for robotic workcell & workflow optimization.
* Design and implement machine learning models for perception classification prediction and control optimization in robotic environments.
* Collaborate with crossdisciplinary teams including data scientists data engineers simulation developers and operations leaders.
* Develop and manage data pipelines model training workflows and deployment infrastructure using AWS services.
* Conduct offline and insimulation experimentation and analysis to inform model development and system improvements.
* Contribute to technical architecture and roadmap to grow ML capability within the AR Sortation Planning team.
* Own production ML systems endtoend including monitoring retraining and continuous improvement.

About the team
We have a talented innovative and diverse team that works on innovative software driving human and robotic workflows UI interfaces AWS services at middlemile Sortation centers within the Amazon Transportation Services network. We build algorithms to optimize sortation rates improve safety and ergonomics delight our associates build simulations for our new robotic solutions all while operating at Amazon scale.

5 years of noninternship professional software development experience
2 years of noninternship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
2 years of full stack development experience
Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
Experience with full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations

Masters degree in Computer Science Machine Learning Robotics or a related field.
5 years of professional experience in software engineering or applied ML.
Strong programming skills in Python and/or Java and proficiency with ML libraries such as PyTorch TensorFlow or Scikitlearn.
Solid understanding of machine learning algorithms model evaluation and datadriven optimization.
Experience building and deploying ML models in production environments.
Comfort working in a fastpaced highimpact team environment with endtoend ownership.
Experience building and maintaining applications with JVMbased languages such as Java Kotlin Scala.
Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle including coding standards software architectures code reviews source control management continuous deployments testing and operational excellence
