POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT ONeill SCHOOL OF PUBLIC AND ENVIRONMENTAL AFFAIRS INDIANA UNIVERSITY BLOOMINGTON CAMPUS Tenured/Tenure Track Faculty Position in Public Budgeting and Financial Management The ONeill School of Public and Environmental Affairs (ONeill) at Indiana UniversityBloomington invites applications for a tenured/tenuretrack appointment in the general field of public budgeting and financial management. While the preferred appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor more advanced candidates are encouraged to apply. Candidates must have completed (or expect to complete prior to appointment) a Ph.D. in economics public administration public affairs business administration political science sociology public policy or a related field. We seek a strong researcher with the ability to advise doctoral students and to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in any area of public financial administration: public economics public budgeting accounting political economy fiscal sociology and/or public financial management. Applicants are expected to develop a record of successful teaching and mentoring of students from all backgrounds and a nationally competitive program of research including external funding. The standard teaching assignment for tenure track faculty is 4 courses per year. The candidate will teach in both the undergraduate and graduate programs. Assistant professors are eligible for promotion and tenure no later than the sixth year of appointment. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. The expected start date is August 1 2023. All ONeill faculty members are expected to interact with our diverse student and faculty community. As such we are especially interested in applicants with a record of successful teaching and mentoring of students from many backgrounds (including firstgeneration college students lowincome students racial and ethnic minorities women LGBTQ etc. and an interest in contributing to ONeills programs curricular offerings and service portfolio in ways that enhance diversity equity and inclusion; applicants are encouraged to address these topics in the letter of application. Five of ONeills specialty programs are ranked in the topfive listings nationally including Public Budgeting & Finance which is ranked number 1. ONeill is also tied for the topranked public administration program according to the 2020 Academic Ranking of World Universities.
