The Precinct One Mechanic will maintain and repair county vehicles including performing routine diagnostic testing repair and log service to lightduty heavyduty and construction equipment. You will also respond to routine and emergency calls for repair and perform preventative maintenance to vehicles including oil changes and brake jobs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Repair lightduty heavy duty and construction equipment
Preventive maintenance of vehicles including oil changes and brake jobs
Respond to routine and emergency calls for repairs.
Clean and maintain the shop and work area
Maintain service log
Other duties as assigned

Education:
High School diploma or equivalent
Experience:
Mechanic I One 1 year of related experience
Mechanic II Three 3 years of related experience
Mechanic III Five 5 years of related experience
Mechanic IV Seven 7 years of related experience
Certification:
Commercial Drivers License Required
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems automotive systems heavyduty diesel and industrial machinery

Work Environment:
This job operates in both indoor and outdoor environments
Exposure to various weather conditions temperature variations loud noises and possible dangerous chemicals may be encountered
Physical Demands:
- This is a physically active position which requires exerting in excess of 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or in excess of 25 pounds of force constantly to move objects
Employment may be contingent on passing a drug screen and meeting other standards.
