The Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) is seeking candidates interested in human resources to apply for Human Resources Specialist.
The position performs technical clerical personnel work in recruitment examinations selection placement benefits employment records management and reporting or credential processes.
The Well Qualified Candidate Will Possess the Following
Knowledge:
Relevant provisions of the California Education Code California code of regulations Personnel Commission rules and regulations collective bargaining agreements and credentialing processes
Credential requirements and regulations in the State of California
Operation of computers office softwareand peripheral equipment
Input and data retrieval procedures for databases and computerized systems
Enterprisewide human resources and payroll information systems
Methods practices and procedures used in physical and electronic recordkeeping storage and retrieval

Required Education and ExperienceEducation:High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience:Three years of directly related human resources clerical experience involving public contact and the review application and interpretation of policies procedures and regulations.
OR
Three years of Los Angeles Office of Education (LACOE) general office clerical experience involving public contact and the review application and interpretation of policies procedures and regulations.
OR
Two years of LACOE human resources clerical experience involving public contact and the review application and interpretation of policies procedures and regulations.
Additional Requirements:Coursework or training in the area of human resources database operation and records maintenance teacher credentialing and/or civil service or merit system processes and practices is desirable. A valid California Drivers License and the availability of private transportation or the ability to provide transportation between job sites is required.
Selection ProcessCandidates who meet the minimum requirements above will be invited to participate in an examination that may consist of a Written MultipleChoice Exam Microsoft Office Exam and Structured Interview.
