JOB TITLE: Volunteer (Budget Talent Management & Communications)

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT:
The Chief Financial Officer Division is one of the core functions in WFP with a strong network of over 800 employees globally. Finance plays a key role in facilitating WFPs operations through management of financial resources entrusted to the Programme financial risk management including in cashbased transfers (CBT) settlement of WFPs financial obligations to vendors cooperating partners employees and other stakeholders maintaining accounting records of WFPs financial transactions providing cross functional financial advice on all aspects of WFPs operations and ultimately providing assurance to donors and other stakeholders through corporate and donor financial reports.
Guided by its vision of being a strategic business partner that supports the strategic shift of the organization and in alignment with the release of the new Staffing Framework The CFO has identified its people as critical in supporting the transformation of the finance role. The division plans to recruit a volunteer to augment existing capacity. The incumbent will be provided with close mentoring guidance and technical supervision to be able to provide support to the CFO division on implementation on the people elements as the enabler in its Finance Strategy 202y in alignment with the WFP People Policy and framework.
ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
The incumbent will perform the following functions:
Support the implementation of the Communications and Engagement Strategy in alignment with the Finance Strategy 2027 and the CFO Mandate.
Provide assistance in developing communications and talent management messaging for CFO initiatives following best practices.
Assist in coordinating key engagement meetings and events such as the CFO Talks series and all staff meetings and support collaboration opportunities within the CFO Communications Network.
Provide guidance and support in maintaining communication materials for different audiences and media channels ensuring consistency and quality and assist in analysing communication activities for impact within the finance function and beyond.
Facilitate coordinating efforts within the Division RB/COs and external vendors on Communication activities such as the new Finance Officer Orientation and/or all staff meetings.
Provide assistance in developing and maintaining Finance knowledge management products.
Support in managing the CFO Division Learning Channel to maintain the platform providing updates on the various financial resources to the concerned stakeholders and maintaining statistics.
Assist in gathering and tracking CFO Mandatory Training reporting data including followups with the relevant Services to ensure completion.
Support in the implementation of the CFO Management Plan 2026 by collecting organizing and archiving relevant data from each service and branch; support the Budget Officer with the inputs in Result to Results tool.
Conduct quantitative analysis of the CFO budget and provide support with reporting tasks.
Support the HR focal points with CFO workforce data gathering reporting and analysis
Any other duties as required by the CFO front office.
DELIVERABLES AT THE END OF THE CONTRACT
At the end of the assignment the volunteer should be able to:
Conduct research collate and validate information.
Contribute to quantitative and qualitative analysis drawing conclusions and making recommendations.
Prepare presentations.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Education: Completion of secondary school education. A postsecondary certificate in the related functional area is desirable.
Knowledge & Skills: Proficiency in MS Office (Word Excel dashboards formulas PowerPoint Outlook)
