Embedded Sr Software Development Engineer Hardware Compute Group

We are looking for a Sr Embedded Software Development Engineer to help design develop and integrate our next generation devices. In this role you will work with customers system architects program managers and hardware engineers to implement troubleshoot fix kernel drivers BSP for our next generation devices.
You will be responsible for the development of realtime embedded firmware and embedded Linux software that implements security controls for the platform.

Key job responsibilities

The Design build and maintain efficient reusable and reliable C code
Debug and troubleshoot issues in the Kernel drivers BSP and integration with OS frameworks.
Identify bottlenecks and bugs and devise solutions to problems found in the product integration and field
Develop and implement a wide range of lowlevel embedded software (including kernel device drivers network stack development porting existing software to new embedded platforms and other lowlevel programming activities) hardware development as well as the development of application software
Develop and customize BSP graphics and port
Develop port and test software and firmware layers inside the Linux Kernel and frameworks
Help maintain code quality organization and automatization
Develop and maintain technical documentation
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other team members.
Participate in code and design reviews.

5 years of noninternship professional software development experience
5 years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
5 years of leading design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Experience in embedded development in C/C
Experience writing low level drivers
Experience as a mentor tech lead or leading an engineering team

Knowledge of DMA I2S and other relevant audio/video interfaces.
Experience with multimedia frameworks like GStreamer FFmpeg or OpenMAX.
Understanding of hardwareaccelerated codecs and GPU technologies.
Experience with GPU acceleration OpenGL or OpenCL. Knowledge of Yocto Project or other embedded Linux build systems.
Understanding of hardware architectures and interfaces (e.g. I2C SPI PCIe).
Experience with multimedia frameworks (such as GStreamer FFmpeg) and hardwareaccelerated video/audio codecs is a plus.
Familiarity with ALSA (Advanced Linux Sound Architecture) and V4L2 (Video for Linux 2 frameworks is a plus.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $151300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
