PHYSICIAN

SITE OF SERVICE:

Fort Bliss TX

Full Time

POSITION QUALIFICATION/REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Doctor of Medicine (M.D. or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O..

Accreditation: Graduate from an accredited medical school in the United States or degree must have been accredited by one of the following:

oCouncil on Medical Education of the American Medical Association

oAssociation of American Medical Colleges

oLiaison Committee on Medical Education

oCommission on Osteopathic College Accreditation of the American Osteopathic Association

oAn accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) at the time the degree was obtained (e.g. Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC).

A Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from a foreign medical school must provide education and medical knowledge substantially equivalent to accredited schools in the United of equivalency to accredited schools in the United States is demonstrated by permanent certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates a fifth pathway certificate for Americans who completed premedical education in the United States and graduate education in a foreign country or successful completion of the U.S. Medical Licensing Examination

Internship/Residency: Successful completion of an internship and residency program (corresponding to the specialty required in the TO) which has been approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education or the Committee on Postdoctoral Training of the American Osteopathic to obtaining a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy degree a candidate must have had at least 1 year of supervised experience providing direct service in a clinical setting (i.e. a 1year internship or the first year of a residency program in a hospital or an institution accredited for such training).For purposes of this requirement graduate training programs include only those internship residency and fellowship programs that are approved by accrediting bodies recognized within the United States or of such programs are described below:

oAn internship program involves broadly based clinical practice in which physicians acquire experience in treating a variety of medical problems under supervision (e.g. internal medicine surgery general practice obstetricsgynecology and pediatrics). Such programs are in hospitals or other institutions accredited for internship training an appropriate accrediting body.

oA residency program involves training in a specialized field of medicine in a hospital or an institution accredited for training in the specialty by an appropriate accrediting body.

oA fellowship program involves advanced training (beyond residency training) in a given medical specialty in either a clinical or research setting in a hospital or an institution accredited in the United States for such training.

Certification: Board eligible or board certified as required.

Cardiac Certifications: Must have the following handson certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross

oBasic Life Support (BLS)

oAdvanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)

Experience: As required to meet clinical competency requirements specified in the Servicespecific credentialing instructions.

Licensure: Current full active and unrestricted license to practice as a Physician in any one of the 50 States the District of Columbia the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico Guam or the U.S. Virgin Islands.

U.S. Citizenship: Shall be a U.S. citizen

English Language Requirement: Shall be able to read write speak and understand English well enough to effectively communicate with all patients and other health care providers.

Physical Capability: Shall be physically capable of standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time and physically capable of performing all services required under the contract.

DUTIES:

Perform a full range of physician services in accordance with privileges granted by the MTF.

Direct perform or assist in the instruction of other health care professionals within the scope of the clinical privileges or responsibilities.

Examine diagnose treat or prescribe courses of treatment within the scope of training experience and privileges.

Provide preventive and health maintenance care including annual physicals positive health behaviors and selfcare skills through education and counseling.

Order diagnostic tests as applicable as well as request consultation or referral with appropriate physicians clinics or other health resources as indicated.

Technically proficient in directing and teaching other medical staff providing educational lectures and participating in the provision of inservice training to clinic staff direction and interaction will adhere to Government and professional clinical standards and accepted clinical protocols.

HOURS:

Fulltime health care workers (HCWs) shall normally provide services for 40 hours per week.

Services are required for a period of 8.5 or 9 hours (including a 30 minute or 1hour uncompensated meal break depending on shift length).

Base Bown Days:

During a planned closure of the facility due to training closures before or after holidays family down days Employee will only be compensated for the actual hours clinic is closed and employee is not able to work employee will be required to use leave or take LWOP (without penalty).

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS

Must be comfortable in a fastpaced dynamic be able and willing to reprioritize on short notice and work on multiple simultaneous and able to work with various work skills required. Time management skills required. The ability to meet deadlines in a deadline intensive environment is essential. High level of adaptability and willingness to embrace change in a fastpaced demanding environment.
