JOB TITLE: Communications and graphic designer Consultant

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT:
The Security Division (SEC) under the framework of the UN Security Management System enables WFP operations particularly in highrisk areas by providing risk management advice concerning the safety and security of its personnel facilities and assets. With humanitarian needs escalating and resources becoming increasingly constrained SEC must offer agile and proactive support underpinned by robust and efficient communication strategies. These strategies are critical to ensure that securityrelated data and information are not only timely accurate and relevant to enable wellinformed decisionmaking but also crafted and disseminated in a way that promotes proper understanding and swift action among diverse audiences. Effective communicating is vital for conveying the appropriate messages that are easily accessible and actionable crucial for maintaining operational continuity and security. Visual content supports the accessibility and understanding of critical messages ensuring that they resonate effectively with both internal and external audiences. Enhanced information management and knowledge management processes are thus essential both for immediate operational support as well as for fostering organizational learning and preparedness in security matters.
Under the supervision of the Chief Security Information Management the Communications Consultant will perform the following duties:
Review and edit communications products such as reports manuals guidelines presentations and intranet content ensuring a high level of consistency accuracy and alignment with corporate platforms for a variety of audiences.
Analyse and review current intranet presence of security content to enhance knowledge sharing and information management related to security. This includes creating dedicated sections for best practices lessons learned and easily accessible security guidelines and resources.
Collaborate with other SEC units to enhance information management practices within SEC aiding in the systematic capture and sharing of security knowledge.
Monitor and analyse usage of security communication products (feedback collection analytics user experience) to identify knowledge gaps and areas for improvement and provide ongoing feedback for continuous improvement.
Design graphic digital content in support of presentations reports and other communication materials for SEC and field offices as requested.
Ensure use of corporate branding across all SEC material and correspondence.
Any other duties related to graphic work multimedia content and communications as required.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Education:
Advanced university degree in communications digital marketing arts social sciences or other relevant field or first university degree with additional years of related work experience.
Experience:
At least 3 years of international experience in graphic design and communications. Additional work experience desirable.
Knowledge & Skills:
Languages:
In addition to a high proficiency in written and spoken English knowledge of a second UN language is desirable.
