Job Description
Description of Work
The Pharmacy Technician Supervisor provides pharmaceutical care within the Department of Adult Correction at the Apex Central Pharmacy. This position is responsible for the supervision of pharmacy technicians.
- Responsibilities include participating in and reviewing of medication dispensing ensuring adequate staffing determining work flow serving as liaison between professional and technical staff establishing and documenting new procedures developing and monitoring quality control and conducting all personnel related functions including the approval of administrative leave training performance appraisals and selection of new employees.
- Position also holds the responsibility of supervising the following specialty teams: Automation team drug recovery team drug procurement team nonsterile compounding team hazardous team and ancillary medication stock replenishment team
- Position requires standing for sustained periods of time the ability to lift up to 20 pounds and close visual acuity.
- Position ensures compliance with all applicable departmental policies and procedures and DEA and NC Board of Pharmacy rules and regulations.
- Work is performed under the direction of a Pharmacist Supervisor.
**This is a fulltime position 40 hours per week) with State Benefits. **Applicants must pass a background check to be eligible for this job.**

The team of physicians nurses behavioral health services dental services psychiatric services pharmacy services and licensed healthcare administration services work together to provide emergent acute routine and chronic health care as well as preventive medicine at all prison facilities. They also coordinate with specialists and other clinical consultants outside of prisons throughout the state to ensure comprehensive health and wellbeing towards a safe transition from prison improving public health and decreasing recidivism.
