Duties and Responsibilities
* Denotes Essential Functions)
  • *Leads the UH Manoa Cashiers Office operations implementing strategies for effective fiscal controls and ensuring accuracy in charges refunds and reconciliations.
  • *Supervises and optimizes the performance of staff involved in accounting cashiering and cash management activities.
  • *Responsible for third party merchant accounts and contracts.
  • Prepares and analyzes financial reports contribute to special studies on tuition revenue and enforce tuition waiver policies for UH Manoa.
  • Maintains uptodate knowledge of relevant laws and regulations advising Manoa executive and senior management on the impact of policy changes.
  • Develops and delivers training on campus level cashiering procedures and policies.
  • Handles and resolves billing and payment disputes for UH Manoa negotiating solutions to maintain positive relationships with students faculty staff and parents that align with published policies.
  • Advises senior Manoa management of Manoa tuition assessment as well as any Manoa payment refund or cashiering issues. Alerts Bursars office of issues within the student information system and or the payment system.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
  1. Possession of a baccalaureate degree in Business Business Administration and 4 years of progressively responsible professional experience with responsibilities for fiscal management or cashiering operations or accounts receivable and collections; or an equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education knowledge skills and abilities as indicated.
  2. Considerable working knowledge of principles practices and techniques in the area of financial services or cashiering operations or accounts receivable and collections or fiscal management and customer service as demonstrated by the broad knowledge of the full range of pertinent standard and evolving concepts principles and methodologies.
  3. Considerable working knowledge and understanding of applicable federal and state laws rules regulations and theories and systems associated with financial services or cashiering operations or accounts receivable and collections or fiscal management and customer service.
  4. Demonstrated ability to resolve wide ranging complex problems through the use of creative reasoning and logic to accurately determine the cause of the problems and the resolution of the problems in an effective innovative and timely manner.
  5. Demonstrated ability to interpret and present information and ideas clearly and accurately in writing verbally and by preparation of reports and other materials.
  6. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations groups team leaders and members and individuals.
  7. Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer and apply word processing software.
  8. Demonstrated ability to lead subordinates manage work priorities and projects and manage employee relations.

Desirable Qualifications
  1. Experience working with student financial services and/or student accounts receivable in an University setting.
  2. Knowledge of federal Title IV regulations.
  3. Knowledge of Banner SIS.
  4. Knowledge of the Universitys Financial Management Information System (KFS).
  5. Knowledge of computerized payment systems.
  6. Supervisory experience in a medium to large organization.
  7. Customer service experience in a medium to large organization.
