Job Description:
Biologics Developability Screening and Automation The Biologics CMC Developability team is an integral part of the Biologics CMC Drug Product Development organization at AbbVie. The Biologics CMC Developability team is responsible for 1 the identification of biophysical and chemical liabilities in discoverystage biologic drug candidates to guide lead selection and 2 for characterization of the key CMC attributes important for biologic drug development. We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated scientist to join the AbbVie Biologics CMC Developability team based in Worcester MA.
Responsibilities:
- Perform indepth LCMS based characterization of therapeutic biologic molecules and their posttranslational modifications.
- Conduct biophysical and biochemical characterization of biologic drug candidates as needed.
- Execute experimental protocols collect results and perform data analysis carefully and independently.
- Maintain excellent documentation of work including electronic lab notebook and protocols.
- Prepare and deliver concise scientific presentations of experimental results.
- Oversee maintenance of key laboratory equipment and routine laboratory operations.
- Build strong relationships with other team members and across groups.
- Understand and adhere to corporate standards regarding code of conduct safety and documentation compliance.
Requirements:
- BS or MS in Biochemistry Biology Chemistry (or equivalent e.g. Chemical Engineering Pharmaceutical Sciences) with 5 (BS) or 2 years (MS) or Ph.D. with 0 years of biopharmaceutical industry experience.
- Handson experience with protein massspectrometry (subunit analysis peptide mapping disulfide mapping).
- Experience with biochemical and biophysical characterization of biologic proteins would be preferred.
- Experience with liquid handling robots and their programming would be highly beneficial.
- Demonstrated track record of independent thinking creativity and scientific accomplishment.
- Highly responsible and selfmotivated. Skills to plan and conduct experiments with high quality and timely deliverables. Able to perform data analysis using MS Excel & GraphPad.
- Team player with excellent collaboration and communication skills.
