Position Summary
The Indiana University School of Public HealthBloomington (SPHB) invites applications for multiple faculty openings in nontenure Lecturer and Clinical faculty tracks at all ranks in the Department of Health & Wellness Design. The SPH B seeks individuals who will contribute toward academic excellence in teaching in support of our mission of preventing disease and promoting the health and wellbeing of individuals families and communities in these four areas: Recreational Therapy Tourism Bridging Healthcare Design and Implementation Science Outdoors the Natural Environment and Health These 10month appointments would ideally start August 1 2025. The SPH B is located on the flagship campus of Indiana University and is comprised of over 200 faculty across five departments. Continuing the momentum of hiring over 60 outstanding faculty over the last three years the SPH B is launching another wave of faculty recruitment. Since rebranding to the Department of Health & Wellness Design in 2020 the department has grown rapidly adding 13 faculty members and launching the Center for Health by Design. The department has the worlds first B.S. in Health & Wellness Design and is planning M.S. and Ph.D. programs in Health & Wellness Design planned to launch in 2026. The Department of Health & Wellness Design maintains strong connections to other STEM departments and schools at Indiana University and health systems across the state. The School of Public HealthBloomington is located in the heart of the Indiana University Bloomington campus and comprises five collaborative academic departments with over 200 faculty and staff including one of the most diverse faculties of any school of public health in the nation with 37.1 of current tenuretrack/tenured faculty being scholars from traditionally underrepresented minority groups. Indiana University provides SPH B faculty outstanding teaching and research support through programs like the IU Faculty Academy on Excellence in Teaching (F.A.C.E.T.; extensive research development and research administrative support through the Office of the Vice President for Research; and innovative collaborations with organizations like the Indiana Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute the IU School of Medicine IUSM and Regenstrief Institutes Center for Aging Research and the IUSMs Center for Diabetes and Metabolic Diseases and the IU Bloomingtons Environmental Resilience Institute.
