Essential Responsibilities:

As the Senior Canada Licensing Engineer Regulatory Affairs you will perform the following for GEH reactors to be deployed in Canada:

• Participate under the direction of the Canadian Technical Leader Regulatory Affairs in task associated with the nuclear regulatory review process with the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) applicable to I&C
• Support preparation and submittal of Preliminary Safety Analysis Report (PSAR) PreOperational Safety Analysis Report (POSAR) and Final Safety Analysis Report (FSAR)documentation and other licence application documentation for BWRX300 licence application activities in accordance with CNSC regulatory requirements and guidelines and with input from the GEH BWRX300 Project Team.
• Support preparation and conduct of technical and licensing presentations to CNSC staff regarding BWRX300 licence applications and coordinate and prepare responses to the customer or regulator in the I&C.
• Prepare and review responses to CNSC NRC other country regulators. Customers and other stakeholders questions
• Coordinate and attend BWRX300 meetings with CNSC NRC other country regulators customers and other stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree in a science or engineering discipline from an accredited university or college with a minimum of 7 years related professional work experience or Masters degree
• Minimum of 7 years of experience performing or providing input into nuclear I&C application including experience in CNSC regulatory documents and Canadian Standards Association (CSA) Standards.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience involving complex projects and providing regulatory guidance and feedback to support those projects.

Eligibility Requirements:

• Work two days onsite a week in GEH office in Markham ON
• GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in Canada for this opening.

Knowledge Requirements

• Must have knowledge of general regulatory guidance applicable to I&C systems as required by REGDOC2.5.2 Design of Reactor Facilities: Nuclear Power Plants.
• Must have knowledge of general regulatory guidance applicable to I&C systems as described in NRC NUREG 0800 Standard Review Plan Chapter 7 or other local country regulatory review guidance.
• Must have knowledge of the regulations and regulatory guides associated with I&C technology and digital development processes as listed in NUREG 0800 Table 71 or other local country regulations.
• Must have knowledge of the industry I&C standards endorsed by NRC regulatory guides and the alternative international standards.
• Must have knowledge of the general NRC review process for I&C systems as described in NUREG 0800 Section 7.0 Appendix 7.0A and Section 7.1. It is a generic process that describes how most regulators work.
• Must have knowledge of RG 5.71 R1 Cybersecurity Programs for Nuclear Power Reactors or other local country regulatory review guidance.
• Must have knowledge of RIS 200222 S1 Clarification on Endorsement of NEI Guidance in Designing Digital Upgrades in I&C Systems for U.S. digital I&C modernization projects.
• Must have knowledge of the NRC DI&CISG06 R2 Licensing Process for U.S. digital I&C modernization license amendments and associated industry guidance NEI 0602 R6 License Amendment Request Guidelines.
• Must have knowledge of RIS 201401 Regulatory Requirements for Withholding of Proprietary Information from Public Disclosure for U.S. projects.
• Must have knowledge of the fundamental design principles for digital (I&C) systems as described in the new NRC I&C Design Review Guide (ML21011A140. It provides useful regulatory perspectives about key I&C system or equipment properties.
• Must have knowledge of the BWRX300 I&C systems and NUMAC 2.0 and Mark Vie digital technology.

Skills
