Job Description

University of Washington Department of Anesthesiology & Pain Medicine has two academic anesthesiologist/pain medicine positions available at the rank of Assistant Professor. The positions are without tenure due to funding and is fulltime or parttime with an anticipated start date of January 2025 or thereafter. Assistant Professors are eligible for multiyear appointments that align with a 12month service period (July 1June 30. Faculty with 12month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12month period (JulyJune) meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. Salary and academic appointment at University of Washington will be commensurate with experience qualifications and academic rank. The base salary range for these positions will be: Assistant Professor $354384 $376044 annually $29532 $31337 per month) commensurate with experience and qualifications or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan in addition to base salary provided by the University. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations. Other compensation associated with this position may include incentive through the UWP practice plan. Compensation provided by the UWP practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization. The successful candidates will provide management of complex hospitalized patients as part of a multidisciplinary team delivery and management of regional anesthesia techniques coordination of care with primary surgical medical and ICU teams as well as consult services perioperative management of high risk patients provide operating room anesthesia as part of a multispecialty anesthesiology group and the possibility of providing outpatient chronic pain consult services at the UW Center for Pain Relief. Duties also include clinical teaching of anesthesiology residents fellows and others and training of clinical care team.



Must have an MD or DO degree (or foreign equivalent) and ACGME accredited fellowship training (or foreign equivalent) and board certification/eligibility (or foreign equivalent) in Pain Medicine. Must obtain state of Washington medical licensure by start of appointment. In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H1B visa graduates of foreign (nonUS) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the US Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services. Visa sponsorship is not available for parttime positions.
