Your Role
Under supervision the Manufacturing Lab Technician is responsible for performing Histology related functions. This includes microtomy staining of tissue by immunohistochemistry (IHC) tissue processing and embedding. The ideal candidate has experience using a microtomeand is eager to work as a team to meet departmental goals and deadlines. In addition this individuals daily tasks may include:
- Packaging and labeling product
- Ordering laboratory reagents
- Maintaining a clean lab environment
This position reports to the Manufacturing Supervisor as part of the Operations team located at the Rocklin Site where we manufacture productsfor use in in vitro diagnostic (IVD) IHC.
Physical Attributes:
- Perform moderately physical activity.
- While performing the duties of this job the employee may work near moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or hazardous chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- The employee may frequently sit stand; walk; use hands handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop kneel crouch or crawl and taste or smell.
- The employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
- The employee may be required to wear an air helmet mask safety shoes apron rubber and tyvek suits protective gloves safety glasses and/or goggles while performing in this position.
Who You Are
Basic Qualifications:
- Associates degree in a biological science OR biochemistry field OR 5years Histology lab experience
- 1 year of production experience
- 1yrs experience with general laboratory equipment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in chemistry biology or related field preferred
- Experience using a microtome preferred
- Experience performing IHC preferred
- 1 years experience in FDA regulated biotechnology OR pharmaceutical environment
- Knowledge ofISO 13485 or other related industry standards preferred
- Experience with SAP SAP NEXT or other ERP system is strongly preferred
