Summary of Job Duties:

The OTA program director is responsible for the management and administration of the program including planning evaluation budgeting selection of faculty and staff maintenance of accreditation and commitment to strategies for professional development.
pilot and evaluate a competencybased Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
and implement instructional plans for each course using appropriate course objectives.
academic policy and procedures and comply with institutional rules and regulations related to classroom instruction.
availability for students out of class.
as the OTA program advisor and lead faculty member.
and secure Academic Fieldwork Coordinators.
and acquire resources including textbooks library materials laboratory supplies and instructional equipment.
program external accreditation planning.
work in developing a systematic plan for evaluation (SPE) which demonstrates that students have achieved or are approaching competency in student learning outcomes.
in College inservice training and other opportunities for continued professional development.
collaboratively with the Dean of Allied Health and the Title III Program Director.


Qualifications:

Qualifications:

Must be an initially certified occupational therapist who is licensed or otherwise regulated according to regulations in Arkansas.

At least a masters degree in occupational therapy awarded by an institution that is accredited by a USDErecognized institutional accrediting agency.

Minimum of 5 years of documented experience in the field of occupational therapy including:

  • Clinical practice as an occupational therapist or occupational therapy assistant.
  • Administrative experience including but not limited to program planning and implementation personnel management evaluation and budgeting.
  • Scholarship (e.g. scholarship of application scholarship of teaching and learning).
  • Understanding of and experience with occupational therapy assistants.

At least 2 years teaching experience preferably in a community college setting.

Experience working with diverse atrisk students preferred.

Ability to work as member of a team.

Excellent written & oral communication skills.
