Job Description

Position Summary
Indiana University is undertaking a major multiyear initiative to expand research activities related to the use of nonmammalian model organisms animal alternatives and animal compliments for understanding environmental contributions to human health with a special emphasis on chemical safety research. This initiative spans the IU Bloomington campus including the College of Arts and Sciences Luddy School of Informatics Computing and Engineering ONeill School of Public and Environmental Affairs and School of Public HealthBloomington . Applications are invited for multiple tenuretrack positions at the Assistant Professor rank to begin as early as the Fall of 2024. Appointments will be in one or more departments or faculty groups including Chemistry Biology Environmental and Occupational Health Environmental Science Health & Wellness Design or Intelligent System Engineering . We are particularly interested in those working to advance research in the development of nontargeted biological and chemical assays as well as data driven approaches to understand biomolecular and physiological responses of chemical exposure including pharmaceuticals and complex environmental mixtures. This work will help identify and classify chemical pollution support implementation of chemical regulations accelerate drug discovery and improve food safety/security. We encourage applications from scholars in biology chemistry computer science engineering medicine physiology toxicology or related fields who apply interdisciplinary perspectives across a variety of these domains. Qualifications: Applicants should possess a PhD in Biology Toxicology Environmental Health Chemistry Mathematics Computer Science Engineering or a related field and a record of scholarship teaching and professional experience appropriate for a tenured or tenuretrack professorship at IU Bloomington.
