Salary: Level A $83468 $113262 p.a. plus 17 super (pro rata for parttime)

As the Hugh Ramsay Postdoctoral Fellow youll have the opportunity to pursue groundbreaking research in Australian art history at the University of Melbourne. Youll work closely with the Hugh Ramsay Chair contribute to curriculum development and help shape the future of Australian art studies including Indigenous and non Indigenous Australian art. This parttime role offers you the chance to establish yourself as a rising scholar in the field while making significant contributions to academic research and teaching.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conduct Innovative Research: Initiate and pursue original research projects focusing on new Australian art histories publishing highquality academic papers and presenting at conferences.
  • Contribute to Curriculum Development: Participate in developing undergraduate offerings in Australian art history informed by your research interests.
  • Engage in Academic Service: Support the priorities of the Art History program and contribute to research workshops and public outreach activities.
  • Collaborate and Network: Work closely with the Hugh Ramsay Chair and engage in interdisciplinary collaborative research activities within and across Faculties.

You may be a great fit if:

You are an earlycareer researcher with a recently awarded PhD in Australian art history demonstrating exceptional scholarly achievement and the potential to make original contributions to the fields of Indigenous and non Indigenous Australian art through your research and teaching abilities.

You may also:

  • Have been awarded your PhD in Australian art history or a related field within the last three years.
  • Possess a strong record of research and publication in Australian art history.
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Have the ability to work collaboratively in interdisciplinary research environments.
  • Show a commitment to the Facultys values and behaviours.
  • Have knowledge of art museum practice in Australia (desirable).
