What will you do
- Remove repair and replace bent and damaged panels and frame structure
- Weld using various techniques (e.g. MIG AC/DC ARC and Oxy/Acetylene)
- Tighten various vehicle components involving riveting and replace door bearings and bushings
- Repair structures behind panels wood flooring and bulkheads
- Fill body dents with appropriate compounds and prepare surface for paint by cleaning sandblasting grinding sanding; apply undercoatings primers and paints
- Remove and replace various bus components such as windshields windows window frames mirrors handrails and door steps
- Remove and install bus wheels
- Repair seats and upholstery
- Perform other related duties as required

For Apprentice Level:
- 4th year apprentice; including the completion of each of the following educational components: Auto Body Prepper Refinisher and Repairer
- Completion of grade twelfth 12 school grade
- Ability to achieve credentials as a Certified Alberta Journeyman in the trade of Auto Body within the established timeline
- Two 2 years of experience in a vehicle maintenance environment
For Journeyperson Level:
- Certified Alberta Journeyperson in the trade of Auto Body Technician preferably with Interprovincial Red Seal
Assets:
- Experience using AssetWorks M5 or similar software considered
Skills required for success:
- Complete working knowledge of the auto body trade and related equipment along with the ability to apply the knowledge in diagnosis and repair work
- Able to understand communicate read and write English at a level needed to meet job related task and safety requirements
- The ability to think logically and keep up with changes in technology
- Committed to safety using occupational health and safety and environmental standards and procedures
- Able to accurately enter data and information into a computer
- Must be able to wear a customfit respirator for extended periods of time
- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and time management skills required
- Demonstrated ability to fulfill team objectives as an active positive employee and coworker
- Strength and stamina required to handle heavy tools manual dexterity creativity patience and a keen eye for detail

Conditions of Employment:
- Valid Alberta Class 3 Drivers License with Air Brake Endorsement (or provincial equivalent); Applicants with a valid Alberta Class 5 Motor Vehicle Operators License who are eligible to write the Class 3 License exam will be considered; Obtaining and maintaining a City Drivers Permit is a requirement of this position
Work Environment:
- Shift work requirements
- Ability to work a variety of shifts on a 24/7 shift cycle
- Environmental conditions may include: heat cold wet dust noise heights exposure to mechanical and/or electrical hazards
