VCU Police is seeking an Operational Support Coordinator to join their team!This position provides comprehensive project management and oversight of VCUPDs Axon systems related to body worn camera and taser program management and implementation and provides general operational support to the Office Manager to include but not limited to: Maintains high competency knowledge level of understanding police policy regarding body worn camera usage; utilizes knowledge to analyze footage identify and develop improvement recommendations and provide training on policy to all VCUPD sworn employees. Reviews body worn camera video on a daily basis for a period of 34 hours if not more; watch for and document abnormalities in the officers activities (attitude spoken word force policy violations etc. also documenting examples of excellent response. Summary of Duties: Maintains accurate and complete records for reviews conducted by Patrol supervision. Maintains strict confidentiality on all video activity observations issues witnessed and recommendations except as required during discussions with the executive level command staff. Serves as the primary contact with the Commonwealth Attorneys Office and other law enforcement agencies regarding body worn camera video requests. Timely and accurate request responses are required. Works closely with VCUPD internal FOIA Liaison and external VCU FOIA officers to edit and distribute BWC footage as requested and tracks requests from the public insurance agencies legal offices etc. Complete video redacting as required for release including muting and blurring for BWC footage and campus camera footage. Identifies retrieves and organizes camera footage (BWC and campus camera) relevant to the incidents to be reviewed by the VCU Community Oversight & Advisory Committee. Manages the respective footage during the biannual meetings. Coordinates equipment technical issues and returns with the vendor; orders spare parts as needed. Maintains a close relationship with the departments Axon Customer Success Manager. Maintains appropriate inventory of all BWC recording devices and accessories. Ensures all software updates are complete; coordinates with VCUPDs IT Team Lead for any assistance needed for updates/upgrades. Compiles distributes and maintains various weekly monthly and quarterly reports pertaining to the body worn camera program and other Axon products. Provides support to the TASER training coordinator including inventory other hardware and software related issues as necessary. Provides backup to Office Manager to include logistical arrangements for meetings and events general office support and presentation preparation. Performs building manager responsibilities for of VCUPD headquarters building. |
