Job Description
In accordance with the Vision Purpose and Values and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health) patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.
As part of a multidisciplinary health care team the Oncology Nurse assesses plans provides and evaluates nursing care for assigned patients/clients in accordance with established policies procedures and standards.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education Training And Experience
Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant; BC Cancer Systemic Therapy certification and two 2 years recent related experience. Basic Life Support Level C. Certification in Oncology Nursing from The Canadian Nurses Associations (CNA) would be considered an asset.
