POSITION PURPOSE
The Event Supervisor provides technical expertise oversight and supervision of the event
technicians for SCUPresents Performing Art Center departments. The technical proficiency
may be in any of the following areas: technical (lighting sound rigging staging) Frontof
house operations or administration for university or offcampus users and patrons of the
Mayer Theatre Fess Parker Studio Theatre Recital Hall or other designated performing arts
venues.
I. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
A. Provide general supervision under the direction of an event manager for events and
provide technical expertise (stage setup sound and lighting systems) operational
or administrative for performances concerts and lecture needs for SCUPresents
B. Supervise the technical activities of the oncall event staff and students.
C. Assist the Events Manager in departmentspecific SCUPresents Performing Arts
Center events.
D. Other Duties as Assigned
II. Qualifications
A. Demonstrate basic technical knowledge in a performing arts discipline: technical
(lighting sound stage systems) FrontofHouse Operational or administration.
B. Ability to work well under pressure and with time constraints.
C. Demonstrate interpersonal written and verbal communication skills.
D. Flexible evening and weekend availability is imperative.
E. Must have knowledge of relevant safety regulations required.
F. Able to complete the general physical requirements as described for each position by
the specific department. May include physical exertion which may include lifting
kneeling and bending of knees and back ability to work at elevated heights using a
ladder extension ladder and lift (technical).
G. Understanding and support of the Jesuit tradition of education and a commitment to
the fundamental values of service to others community and diversity.
High school diploma preferred.
1year of relevant experience working in a theatre preferred.
A minimum of two years facetoface customer service experience required.
