The Language Experience team in Builder Tools is the center of excellence for Amazons use of programming languages highlyleveraged shared software and application build tools.
Our tools are used in all aspects of the business and their care and evolution are of critical importance to the effectiveness of Amazon. Were looking for a deeply technical leader interested in sustaining and evolving the shared software platform used by nearly every service within the company. Those with experience evolving broadly distributed and highly complex software libraries such as large open source projects and mission critical foundational software stacks will be given an opportunity to have company wide impact.
Key job responsibilities Hiring retaining and growing talent within your team; Reliably delivering high quality technical solutions that delight our customers; Working on business strategy to define a compelling product roadmap; Diving deep with customers to learn and help them shape their own success stories; Clearly communicating risks and successes at the executive level as you define and execute on a vision for the product.
3 years of engineering team management experience 7 years of working directly within engineering teams experience 3 years of designing or architecting (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience 8 years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing certification and livesite operations Experience partnering with product or program management teams
Experience in communicating with users other technical teams and senior leadership to collect requirements describe software product features technical designs and product strategy Experience in recruiting hiring mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills and make them more effective product software engineers
