High School Spanish TeacherDescription: The Charles School at Ohio Dominican University is looking for a High School Spanish Teacher for theschool year. has a particular mission to urban students in Central Ohio preparing them for lifelong learning and informed citizenship through early college exposure in a supportive environment. Fostering ownership and responsibility for their education prepares our students to be successful in college the workplace and other endeavors they undertake upon classroom teacher is responsible for the education of each student in his or her class and is responsible for working with students parents and other teachers and staff towards achieving the mission and goals of The Charles School at Ohio Dominican University Vision: pursues excellence by providing a safe and innovative learning environment that cultivates a growth mindset and supports social and emotional learning while bridging the transition to postsecondary aspirations. Overview:As a graduation requirement Spanish courses prepare students to become emergent Spanish speakers have an appreciation for Spanishspeaking cultures and to become more appreciative through understanding of a greater diversity of human experience. Historically the school has taught Spanish 1 2 3 and Heritage classes. All four courses meet graduation expectations. They also prepare our students for greater reading writing listening and speaking skillssets. Help to spark curiosity and joy in learning for all students. Responsible for teaching a full course load 6 47minute periods with one prep period daily) of Spanish or elective courses. Develops syllabus grading expectations course sequence title and all course details in conjunction with the building leadership department and counseling a caring and nurturing classroom environment where all students can contribute to the community learn express questions/concerns/thoughts and deepen their growth as a lifelong learner. Follow building guidance regarding parental communication classroom management norms and PBIS the building leadership and grade level teams write implement and evaluate Crew lessons. Develop your Crew class culture such that the schools mission vision and core values are reflected. Staff members often have additional responsibilities and duties to help the school function safely and effectively.
