Job Description

Position Summary
The Department of Geography at Indiana University Bloomington invites applications for a tenure position at the level of Associate or Full Professor to begin in the fall of 2023. We seek an individual with expertise in climate change with a focus on hydrologic extremes who is committed to excellence in scholarship and teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. We are particularly interested in applicants whose research spans multiple spatial and temporal scales to examine how climate change affects the timing and intensity of storms floods droughts and heat waves. Interest in disciplinary and interdisciplinary collaborations is strongly supported and encouraged. Applications are welcome from candidates who conduct research that uses a diverse set of methods tools and approaches including combinations of fieldbased studies remote sensing laboratory experiments and/or modeling. We value research teaching and service that intersects with issues of environmental justice and/or diversity and inclusivity in climate science and geography. Successful applicants will have a strong record of research productivity and external funding. We are especially interested in applicants with a strong commitment to mentoring teaching or outreach to people from diverse backgrounds (including firstgeneration college students lowincome students racial and ethnic minorities women LGBTQ) and an interest in contributing to the Department of Geographys curricular offerings and research portfolio in ways that enhance diversity equity and inclusion. Ph.D. is required at time of appointment. The College of Arts and Sciences is committed to building and supporting a diverse inclusive and equitable community of students and scholars.
