The College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell University seeks a talented individual to serve as Director of DVM Admissions to advance our reputation and build upon our previous successes in identifying attracting selecting and matriculating the highest caliber of future leaders of the veterinary profession. Reporting to the Assistant Dean with minimal oversight the person in this position will work closely with colleagues in the Office of Student and Academic Services Veterinary Medicine IT Department DVM Admissions Committee and Association of American Veterinary Medical Colleges to provide leadership oversight and coordination for the development of a comprehensive recruitment and admissions program in a highprofile academic environment.
The job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Oversee or personally conduct the admission and recruitment process for the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree program including counseling recruitment marketing publications and application evaluation.
Formulate an integrated communications and marketing plan and evaluate its effectiveness using appropriate metrics.
Develop enrollment models for long range planning and forecasting and provide insight and guidance on selection and yield.
Set goals and craft recruitment strategies to enhance the applicant pool.
Motivate and mobilize a team around shared goals and inspire those outside the organization.
Required Qualifications
Masters degree with at least five to seven years progressively responsible student services experience in higher education admissions or equivalent combination of education and experience with supervisory experience required.
Proven leadership in team settings and crosslevel collaboration. Expertise in collaboration conflict resolution and decisionmaking.
Skilled in marketing strategies to achieve recruitment goals.
Strong presentation and public speaking skills along with oral written and organizational communication.
Proficient in databases analytics and digital tools.
Detailoriented with a commitment to confidentiality.
Builds and maintains effective relationships across groups.
Open to travel as needed
Preferred Qualifications
Masters degree or Phd in educational psychology counselor education statistics and measurements higher education administration or related field.
Seven to ten years of admissions experience in graduate medical veterinary medical or other professional degree programs with demonstration of progressive responsibility.
Familiarity with evolving trends in higher education enrollment management.
Experience utilizing PeopleSoft.
Important Details about the Position
This is a Hybrid position with the possibility of up to 1 day remote per week beyond the initial training period.
We are unable to provide Visa sponsorship now or in the future for this position.
